E Resource of the month August 2021: OpenAthens

This month we are highlighting OpenAthens. 

With one simple sign on, OpenAthens enables you to access all the knowledge you need to achieve great things. The OpenAthens  account is free and can be used from work or home.

Who can have this?

Available to NHS staff. The eligibility page explains more if you are unsure

How can I get registered with OpenAthens?

Complete an online form. This can be found on SaSH PCs on the Intranet Applications, on the Library website or by clicking here. You can also find it via Google.

The online form asks you to select your organisation. You will also need to supply an email.

An activation will be sent to the email you provided with a link for you to create your own password.

This account is normally set up for 2 or 3 years.

If you have moved from another Trust it is important you login and use the option to change your organisation. You can also find an option to change your email if that is applicable.

Once you have registered take a look at My Resources which is a list of online resources you now have access to. This includes E- journals, Databases, Point of Care Tools and E-Books.  Depending on your organisation you will see a variety of other resources eg Royal Marsden, ClinicalSkills, Anatomy
