Look under Evidence for research reviews, evidence-based guidelines, validated research articles and research-based clinical options.

Literature contains indexes of published information from journals, conference abstracts, reports and academic theses.  Critically appraise results to exclude poorly conducted clinical trials, reports and articles and locate relevant, valid information.

The ‘NHS Knowledge and Library Hub’ connects NHS staff and learners to high quality knowledge and evidence resources in one place.

Royal Marsden Manual: key text for student nurses and student midwives. The 10th edition of the Royal Marsden Hospital Manual of Clinical Procedures includes 350+ evidence-based clinical procedures related to every aspect of care. New England Journal of Medicine Images in Clinical Medicine offers a range of slides which are grouped by specialty.

Trip Database: search a topic and there are options to limit to images or videos

Wellcome Images: This open access resource provides a collection of biomedical images covering the history of medicine, and include: disease, surgery and general healthcare. Images are freely available to download for personal, academic teaching or study use

OnExamination: Sorry but our access to OnExamination does not include any undergraduate exams.

The site is an online revision resource to assist doctors in preparation for membership exams. Questions and explanatory answers on current and typical themes

 

Oscestop: Sorry but the library does not contribute or pay towards Oscestop access.

The site contains regularly updated content on the essential skills in which junior doctors must be competent. Additionally this site offers interactive OSCE stations representing those which are likely to come up in examinations
