This annual celebration of reading and books takes place every year on 23rd April, Shakespeare’s birthday. The Reading Agency organises 1000’s of volunteers all over the country to hand out books, hoping to inspire those who receive them. This year we were lucky enough to receive 60 books from the Reading Agency and another 10 from our friends at Surrey’s public libraries. We gave these out, wrapped up, so staff didn’t know which title they were choosing. 40 books were given out in 20 minutes at East Surrey hospital library and 30 books were gone in 10 minutes at Crawley hospital library! For those who got one, we hope you enjoy it and please pass it on for someone else to enjoy. For those that missed out, there’s always next year!
